Its Vesak day!!! And this is my first time blogging in the past two months. I guess its because of this 3 day long break that gave me the luxury and chance to blog again. Have been super busy with exams and there after Final year project. Its blizarre how time can just fly past without you realising it.
This semester's exam papers were difficult. I was desperate for more time to finish studying for every single module. My very last paper, Pathology, left many of my coursemates crying, shock and depressed. We were sort of played out by our "dearest" lecturer. Haha he gave us all the wrong tips (on purpose in my opinion). So like the rest of them i am afraid of the results for this paper.
Immediately after my exams, i had a short time to rest and recharge... haha but i guess i did not make good use of time to re-energise... was going out and watching online TVs all the time. It was great that my weekly dose of english dramas are back ever since the end of the dreadful writers' strike:). When my FYP began, i was taken aback by the amount of stuffs for us to learn.
Coming from NTU and always complaining about the extremely long 179 bus queue in the morning, i feel like eating my words because NUS's traffic conditions are far worst. Traveling to NUS is but in fact a chore that i dread everyday haha...but i have no choice as there are no other alternatives. So people out there in NTU in, you guys better start appreciating the traffic conditions haha.
Doing my FYP at NUS is like working, i can now comprehend how tough a 830am - 630 pm job can be like. Ever since starting work, i turn in before 12 every night. If you don't sleep early, you will not have enough energy and concentration to last the whole of the next day. And now that my job is so serious and concerns my future, everyday's work is taken extremely seriously and meticulously. I need to be focus all the time unlike the past part-time jobs that you take up just to earn some extra bucks. It is good in some sense as the habit of sleeping and waking up early is healthy. I like it better when i am adopting such a healthy habit. But to keep up with it, alot of self-discipline comes into picture.
Anyway, this 3-days of rest was great. I got to bond with my family members and learn in depth about my family's history. Although the my family's history was not painted in a simple, colourful and beautiful picture like i grew up thinking it was, i am still very proud of the people that mattered in my family. I feel a great sense of belonging and obligation to take care of my family members. I really idolise my grandmother for everything she has done and sacrificed for this family. I also understand the need to be tolerant against little petty issues that are not actually important at the end of the day. I am thankful to my endearing aunt for everything:)
Today is also Lindy's birthday haha. Happy birthday Lindy!!! Hope today's a great day for you. Olivia should be coming back soon in one months time. But its gonna be sad when she comes back and i have to leave for beijing soon after. Talking about beijing, i can't help but say that i am utterly disappointed in the school for their absolute failure to organise everything, Up till now, nothing is confirm, we have to book our air tickets ourselves, we have to keep pestering the school for results all the time. Hostels and transportation and the cost involved are all unknown. I think my course only appears glam and prestigous on the surface for NTU to boast about... but in actual fact, its just a facade, a failure and a lack of proper organisation and management. Sad right? but i give up getting all worked up and pissed off about it. There is just this much you can do sometimes and getting upset isn't going to solve anything.
While time to sign off. Hopefully i'll be able to update my blog more often.
